THE ANCESTOR OF RAM WHO SLEPT FOR 4 LAKH YEARS

There was an ancestor of Lord Ram who slept for 4 lakh years. His name was Muchukunda. King

Muchukunda was the son of King of Mandhata.

He was an ancestor of Ram and belonged to Suryavansha. It is believed that when the Devas were

being defeated by the Asuras, Muchukunda protected the Devas and fought for them.

He fought for a long time and didn’t rest for a moment. When the Devas defeated Asuras,

Lord Indra, pleased with his Kindness and bravery, asked him for a boon.

Since he was very tired by his sleep, he asked Indra for such a boon that he could sleep for as

HINDUISM IS NOT REALLY POLYTHEISTIC BUT IT IS ACTUALLY MONOTHEISTIC

Polytheistic is a word which is used to denote a culture who believes in many Gods. while

monotheistic means a religion which believes in only one supreme God.

Whenever people hear about Hinduism, they usually think that Hindus are polytheistic and

worship many Gods.

But actually this is not the truth. Hinduism believes that actually there is only one supreme

infinite God which is known as Brahman as per the Vedas. This Brahman has no attributes and

no specialities.

Just the thing is that this Brahman manifests himself in different Gods and can take form of

many Gods.

Hindus worship these Gods which are manifested from brahman. So actually Hinduism is a

monotheistic religion and not a polytheistic one.

HINDUISM HAS GIVEN BIRTH TO MANY OTHER RELIGIONS

Hinduism is the oldest religion of the world. So it’s not a surprising fact that many religions have

come out from Hinduism.

Religions like Buddhism, Sikhism, Zoroastrianism have come from Hinduism. While Jainism, the

second oldest religion of the World, is said to be a contemporary to the Hindu culture.

Lord Buddha, the founder of Buddhism is said to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu who is an

Hindu God.

Lord Adinath, the first Tirthankara of Jainism and the founder of Jain Culture is also said to be

an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

Guru Nanak is said to be born in a Hindu Family. According to some historians, it is believed that

a group of Vedic Scholars and Saints went and settled in Iran.

That’s why we see so much similarities in Parsees and Hindus. The Zoroastrian Book

Zenda Avesta is very much similar to the Rig Veda.
