How to open Chakras?, “What is A Chakra Healing?”

Hinduism is full of knowledge. There is mention even about minute things also in the vedas. One of the topics is Ayurveda and the science of healing the body. In this blog, I will tell you about these Chakras and how you can heal these Chakras by doing meditation, wearing gemstones etc. When in ancient times, there was no modern technology, equipment or knowledge; our forefathers were totally dependent on yoga, exercise and ayurveda. According to the vedic science, there are seven energies which constitute our body. Our body is divided into seven parts on the basis of these energies. These energies are in the rotating spiral shape like as if a wheel is spinning. This energy is known as Chakra. A Chakra means a wheel in Sanskrit language. For simplicity, I will use “energy and wheel” here to denote chakras. These chakras are different energies which are located in different body parts and have their specific purposes. They control our emotions, thinking, behaviour etc. If we see from a spiritual perspective, these bodily energies are very important to balance our mind and body and to make our life happy. According to many people, if we balance all our energy wheels in the right way, we can easily achieve success and gain spiritual powers.

Now I will tell you about What is a chakra healing and how we can open the chakras. The practice of chakras is quite easy. It’s just like doing a simple and basic meditation. Just you have to release all the stress out of your mind and experience the divine energy which is rotating inside you. Here are a few steps which you have to follow properly. If you do this for just 15 minutes every day, you can easily balance your energies.

First of all, find a place which is cool, dry and very quiet. There is just silence and no noise or disturbance as it will improve your focus. Also the place should be clean and hygienic so that your mind will not be struck in the dirtiness of that place. The morning time is the best for this meditation.

The second step is preparing your mind. The mind has the most important role in this meditation and if your mind is stuck somewhere else, you can’t do meditation properly. Your mind should be in the state of peace. It should not be struck with any thought, no matter if it is good or bad. This will help you to easily concentrate on your chakras and not on anything else.

When you have chosen the place, prepare your mind then take any mat and keep it on the ground. Sit on it and in a padmasana (lotus pose). You can see it in picture.

This is the most important part. Take a deep breath and release it. While releasing, say OM. repeat this process. While saying Om, experience a red-coloured wheel spinning in the bottom most part of your body. Focus on this for 2-3 minutes. Now move upwards just below your navel. Experience a bright yellow-coloured energy rotating here. Like the previous one, focus on this also for 2-3 minutes. Repeat this for each energy wheel. Also automatically move in upwards direction till you reach the crown chakra.

This energy is also known as Muladhara chakra according to sanskrit language. This wheel is related to the element earth and represents red color. This energy wheel is present at the bottom root part of the spinal cord, precisely between the hips region. This chakra is also called the door of energy in our body. Earth represents humbleness or gratitude and this energy when balanced makes us humble and down to earth. Any energy, negative or positive, enters from this region in our body. This chakra is mainly related to real life situations like survival, uneven problems, money management, doing specific tasks etc. Those people who want to succeed in this material life like a job, career, business or studies; open this wheel. This energy wheel is located below the abdomen precisely between the navel and pubic region. Water represents stability and this chakra if balanced, provides stability to our mind. This energy is related with our thoughts and desires. It provides peace, positiveness and creativeness to our mind. Those people who want to stabilize their mind, avoid dirty, violent or negative thoughts open this wheel. This chakra is very important to balance as it controls our mind and if it’s not balanced our mind becomes unbalanced. An unbalanced mind is always filled with foolish, violent and negative thoughts and it’s also obsessed with sexual thoughts. It causes overthinking and irrational thinking in our brain. Those people who suffer from the problems mentioned above and want to clear their mind open this energy wheel. People open this chakra to deal with organs which are located in the lower abdomen like the female organ, kidney, bladder or spleen, if they’re not working properly or malfunctioning. People do some asanas like Kagasana (Crow Pose) or Trikonasana (Triangle Pose) and wear gemstones like moonstone, citrine, tiger’s eye or carnelian etc.

Also known as Ajna chakra, this energy radiates indigo colour. It is located exactly between the eyes. Now one may ask “why the element is not mentioned here??”. This wheel is not related with any element as the reason behind it is that this wheel is beyond this materialistic world and expresses eternal life. According to the texts, between our eyes or between the two parts of our brain; there is a third eye. This eye is very special and is related to the divine. This eye is not only for seeing the material things but the eternal and divine things also. It represents the divine vision, prophecy or imagination. You may have Lord Shiva with a third eye. That third eye denotes this only. Now as said above, this chakra gives us divine knowledge and vision. This wheel gives us a second-level thinking and makes our brain to think from different angles and dimensions. People who have mind-related or psychological problems, frequent headaches or have neurological problems are told to open this wheel. This wheel can be opened by doing Shashankasana (Hare Pose) and wearing gemstones like amethyst, fluorite or obsidian.

Known as Sahasrara chakra, this chakra represents violet colour and like the previous chakra, it also doesn’t relate to any element. It is the supreme energy of our body. It partially resides inside our brain and it’s partially outside the body. It represents the divine reality of ourselves and also the connection with god. This energy is very much powerful and by opening this wheel, one can automatically open all the chakras. You have Lord Shiva, Buddha, Mahavira or Lord Vishnu, Rama, Krishna having locks on their head or wearing crowns. These locks or crowns represent this energy. One can open this wheel by doing Pranayam, Anulom-Vilom or by wearing gemstones like selenite, clear quartz, amethyst, diamond.
